The Society of Vascular and Interventional Neurology (SVIN) held their 14th Annual Meeting in-person in Phoenix, Arizona and virtually from November 17 – 20, 2021. During this time, a strong team of twenty Social Media Ambassadors took over Twitter to promote the sessions and events taking place during the meeting.
The SVIN Social Media Ambassadors ranged in posting 225 – 350 times per day to promote this event. Each Ambassador handled a session per day, covering a play-by-play of the session for those tuning in via Twitter. On Twitter, SVIN had #SVIN2021 and SVINAM to share their posts with the community. During the week of the Annual Meeting, the SVINAM Keyword was mentioned thirty-eight times on the peak date and time, but continued to be mentioned over fifteen times per day of the conference.
During the Annual Meeting SVIN’s Twitter account made a big impression on their audience. With 62,782 impressions made on November 16, 86,166 impressions on November 17, 115,485 impressions on November 19, and 92,515 impressions on November 20. These impressions show the true impact the Social Media Ambassadors had on the public and just how well they were able to promote the SVIN Annual Meeting!
The Social Media Ambassadors were a select team made of SVIN members, but they also include the public audience in their venture. To award the twitter accounts that had participated in the SVIN Twitter Takeover the most, SVIN Social Media and Digital Strategy Committee gave out four $400 Apple Gift Cards as a reward for the recipients to purchase an iPad. This incentive to post went over greatly within the public and those attending the SVIN Annual Meeting.
